The Tampere region Association of the Visually Impaired was founded in 1909 by visually impaired people. Throughout its history, our mission has been to provide support and services for the visually impaired and to bring them together. We have just over 1000 members.

Our association works for the benefit of us visually impaired people, so that we can live independent and meaningful lives as equal members of society.

Our area of operation covers Pirkanmaa and (most of) Kanta-Häme regions. Tampereen seudun Näkövammaiset ry is a regional association, with six independent, registered local associations operating on its territory.

We welcome as members all visually impaired individuals living in our area of operation, for whom their visual impairment causes significant disadvantage. It is also possible to join as a supporting member.
